Join Mike Jaruszewicz and the Boulevard Park Association on Monday, June 5 from 7 to 8pm at Strong Vincent Middle School (1330 West 8th Street) for a walking tour of the History of Boulevard Park. Mike is a founding board member of Our West Bayfront, a local history buff, and has lived in the Boulevard Park Neighborhood since 2011. Boulevard Park was one of Erie’s first planned residential developments, spanning the 1000-1300 blocks of West 8th-11th streets. Established and promoted by Andrew P. Weschler, it was annexed to the City of Erie in 1908 and was regarded as “Erie’s most beautiful residence section.” Join Mike for a one-hour walking tour through Boulevard Park’s tree lined streets to learn about the neighborhood’s history, its landmarks, and what life was like in Erie in the 1910s-1920s. Bring your comfy walking shoes! (And maybe an umbrella just in case)
