HistERIE Week was initiated by the Erie County Public Library in 2022! It featured historic walks, talks, and virtual events that celebrated history in Erie County. It was such a success, we've decided to do it again!
This year, the second annual HistERIE Week is themed "History is Everywhere!"
Have you ever noticed those historic signs as you are out and about? There are over 200 historic markers in Erie County! Not to mention other places that are full of history. This year, we will shed light on bits of history around the county. Stop by your local ECPL location and pick up a take-home packet which includes a map of historic markers and historic sites around Erie County.

Curious about that mysterious room on the second floor of Blasco Library?
It's not as intimidating as you might think! The Heritage Room is full of local history and genealogy resources like books, maps, microfilm, and exhibits! While the materials in the room cannot be checked out, you are welcome to stop in and use these resources during our open hours. Our friendly team of history-loving staff can help you find the information you are looking for.
