Celebrate History in Erie County!

Take a tour of the history exhibit at Erie Insurance! Attendees must register in advance and will meet at the entrance of the new Thomas B. Hagen Building on the Erie Insurance campus.

12:00pm-6:00pm Fort LeBoeuf Historical Society: Campus Open
The Fort LeBoeuf Historical Society will open the historic campus in Waterford which includes the French & Indian War Museum and the 18th Century Gardens. There will be Live Demonstrations highlighting crafts of the time!
The Eagle Hotel will be open until 4:300pm

Join Dr. Ben Scharff  at the George Washington Memorial Park for a half-hour discussion on the history of Fort LeBoeuf and the surrounding region.

6:00pm-7:00pm Erie County Veterans Memorial Park’s World War I Memorial

Erie County Remembers the sacrifices of its military heroes at Erie County Veterans Memorial Park’s World War I Memorial: MaryJane Koenig and Ann Silverthorn will highlight some of those service members listed on the World War One Memorial who made the ultimate sacrifice. Join them to hear some compelling stories of heroism, the youngest, the oldest, the immigrants who returned to Europe to fight for their new country, those buried in France, the 313th Machine Gun Battalion, the 112th Infantry.  Albion, Corry, Edinboro, Erie, Fairview, Girard, Harborcreek, Lake City, Lawrence Park, Millcreek, Mill Village, Union City, Waterford, Wattsburg, Wesleyville, all lost favorite sons.

Location: Meet at the World War One memorial across from Erie County Veterans Stadium on State Street, just north of 26th Street.
*In case of rain, meet inside the ticket gate at Erie Veterans Stadium on the southeast corner of 26th and State Streets.
