Erie County Public Library relies on funding from the Friends of the Erie County Library for all programs, all year long. We receive a budget annually to provide programming and an extra amount for our Summer Library Program. This funding is driven entirely by proceeds from Friends of the Erie County Library book sales (chiefly, the Great American Book Sale). Please support library programming by supporting our Friends!
In addition, the ECPL seeks applicable grants, willing financial sponsors, and direct donations.
In 2026, we need:
- Prize Sponsors: gift cards, consumables, merchandise, passes, etc. Prizes are promoted throughout the entire Summer Library Program. Your brand has visibility in this guide, on print materials, on the library website, and in any Summer Library Program advertising.
- Registration Offers: a "no purchase necessary" coupon that patrons receive when they register for the reading challenge. Invite patrons to visit your location!
- Experience Sponsors: Help ECPL host unique experiences for our patrons that are normally behind a paywall. This type of program is typically limited to an agreed number of patrons. ECPL will pre-purchase admission for the patrons and seeks partners that are willing to host our group or offer a reduced cost sponsorship.
- Discount Sponsors: Invite Erie County Public Library patrons to visit your business to receive a discount or special offer when they show their library card.
