Cricut EasyPress

The Cricut EasyPress is a hybrid between an iron and a heat press. It has a temperature control and timer for ease of use. You can use it to transfer iron-on vinyl or infusible ink designs to fabric or other flat surfaces.

The temperature and time settings required for each project depend on two factors. The first is the type of base material you are transferring your design onto (cotton, sublimation blank, burlap, etc.) and the second is the type of heat transfer material you are using (Infusible ink, heat transfer vinyl, etc.).

If you are using infusible ink with a sublimation blank, the sublimation material usually states the temperature and timing settings to be used on their website.

If you are using Cricut brand materials, use the Cricut Heat Guide Link below to find out the proper settings for your project.

If you are using other materials, you will have to do some research to see if that brand of iron-on vinyl or infusible ink can attach to the base material you would like to use.

Note: Infusible ink can only attach to materials with a high polyester fiber content, or a suitable polyester coating, and sublimation blank materials.

Cricut Mug Press

Cricut's new Mug Press is a heat press that works with Infusible Ink to transfer custom designs onto special polyurethane-coated mugs. Cricut Mug Press makes pro-looking mugs in minutes! Results are dishwasher and microwave safe.

The Cricut Mug press is for infusible ink transfer sheets or infusible ink pens and markers only! Infusible ink transfer sheets are solid colors or patterns. There is not a way to take a photo and transfer it to a mug. That is a different process using a sublimation printer, which the Idea Lab does not have. See the examples tab for images of mug designs made with this machine.

This process will only works with Cricut Mugs or sublimation mugs. The Idea Lab does not sell the mugs in our space; the mugs are available at craft stores and online.

Pressing a mug takes about 5-6 minutes; the mugs then take 10-15 minutes to cool.
