Learn about the Cricut Maker and Cricut Design Space.

Vinyl Sticker

In this project you will make a vinyl sticker using the text function in Cricut Design Space. The project is divided into three phases: creating, preparing and applying.

Supplies:

  • Sheet of Vinyl
  • Transfer Tape
  • Green Cricut Mat 
  • Cricut Maker
  • Weeding Tools
  • Computer with Cricut Design Space 

In this project you will learn how to:

  • Add text 
  • Edit the size and font of the text
  • Send the final project to the Cricut Maker 
  • Prepare and transfer vinyl

For this project you will need to download Cricut Design Space and create an account. The download link is below.

There are two learning options to choose from. Option 1 is a step by step written guide with visuals. Option 2 is a series of walkthrough videos showing how to complete each portion of the project.

Iron-On Decal

In this project you will make an iron-on decal using an image. This project is divided into three phases: creating, preparing and applying.

Supplies:

  • Sheet of Iron-On Vinyl
  • Transfer Tape
  • Green Cricut Mat 
  • Cricut Maker
  • Weeding Tools
  • A shirt, tote or other fabric item
  • Cricut Easy Press or Iron 

In this project you will learn how to:

  • Upload an image to Cricut Design Space
  • Prepare and transfer iron-on vinyl

If you have not already done so, you will need to download Cricut Design space and create an account in order to complete this project. The download link is below.

The video below shows how to transfer an iron-on decal to a fabric surface.

Note: We recommend placing a thin piece of scrap fabric or teflon sheet between your design and the iron/press.

Greeting Card

The Cricut is the perfect tool for making personalized gifts and cards. For this project we will make a card using the cut and draw functions. The project is divided into two phases: creating and preparing.

Supplies:

  • Sheet of Cardstock
  • Cricut Marker
  • Green Cricut Mat 
  • Cricut Maker
  • Computer with Cricut Design Space 

In this project you will learn how to:

  • Create a design using shapes and text
  • Assign pieces of the design to draw and others to cut
  • Use the weld, slice and attach features 

If you have not already done so, you will need to download Cricut Design space and create an account in order to complete this project. The download link is below.

Some important Cricut terms to understand for this project:

Slice: splits overlapping layers into parts (Think scissors)

Attach: keeps elements of the design together (Think a paperclip) 

Weld: fuses multiple layers together making a single layer (Think glue)
