The Blasco Library occasionally offers photography classes. Check the library’s events calendar to see the date for the next available class.

There are a variety of free online classes available through Universal Class and Lynda.com. Universal Class is available to anyone with a valid Erie County Public Library card. Lynda.com classes are available with a Free Library of Philadelphia card. Use the following step by step guides in order to access these resources for free.

Digital Photography 101

• A comprehensive overview of photography equipment and basic skills. Lessons in this course review, light, image quality, portraits and more. Duration: 8hr

Adobe Photoshop 101

• A comprehensive course about how to navigate and use Adobe Photoshop. Duration: 12hr

Adobe Lightroom 101

• A comprehensive course about how to navigate and use Adobe Lightroom. Duration: 8hr

Introduction to Photography

• A beginning level course explaining types of cameras and lenses, exposure, taking portraits and more. Duration: 1 hr 52min

GIMP Essential Training

• This course goes over the basics of the free image editing software GIMP.  Duration: 5hr 10min

Learning Lightroom CC

• A beginner level course about Lightroom. In this course you will learn about sharpening, adding lighting effects, removing objects and more. Duration: 1hr 47min

Photoshop 2020 Essential Training

• A beginning level course that demonstrates a variety of Photoshop topics including but not limited to, managing layers, using adjustment layers, making selections and more. Duration: 6hr 18min

Green Screen Techniques for Video and Photography

• A course about how to use a green screen for video and photography purposes. Duration: 2hr 49min
