Roland Print and Cut

Which Instructions should I use?

The Print and Cut machine uses information to tell it where to cut and where to print. Adobe Illustrator or VersaWorks must be used to add cut lines. The Idea Lab has both software available for use.

 

Using the flow chart below start at the red box. Answer question about your project to see which set of instructions will work best for you. 

VersaWorks Add Cutlines - Simple Shape

Follow this set of instructions if the image you would like to turn into a sticker is a basic square or rectangle shape and the original file was a PNG or JPEG. (Only PDF files are compatible with VersaWorks. If you have not converted your files to PDF see the Converting Files tab)

VersaWorks Adding Cutlines - Complex Shape

Follow this set of instructions if you would like your sticker to follow the outline of the design. The original file must have been a SVG. (Only PDF files are compatible with VersaWorks. If you have not converted your SVG files to PDF see the Converting Files tab)

Adobe Illustrator Adding Cut Lines - Outline

Learn the steps needed to add an outline cutline in Adobe Illustrator, which follows the edge of your design. This is a more advanced option for making a sticker and will take the most amount of time.
