The Erie County Public Library is excited to announce its Second Annual HistERIE Week!
This year's week-long celebration of history in Erie County is themed "History is Everywhere!" Ever notice those metal historic marker signs while you are out and about? You may be surprised to know there are over 200 historic markers in Erie County! They are there to share tidbits of the vast history of a location.
From Monday June 5th through Sunday June 11th there will be history programs around the county. And just because we don't have a program in your area doesn't mean there isn't history there! History really is everywhere! But it's not always documented with a marker or museum. To learn more about the history in your area, see your local library and some of the online resources available with your ECPL library card. The map in our take-home packet includes locations of documented historic sites in Erie County. Pick up your packet while supplies last at your local ECPL location.
This LibGuide provides information about event schedules, participant information, local history resources, and more! If you would like more information about the event, you can contact the library. (814) 451-6927
